Frequently Asked Questions

What's different about the Chantal Fondue?

Crafted in the Chantal tradition, this 2-quart fondue pot with elegant Fire & Ice stand combines sleek design with outstanding function. The Chantal Fondue come with stainless steel burner, burner paste, forks and a spatter guard. It works well with broth, cheese, dessert or oil fondues. The Chantal Fondue Pot can also be used on any stovetop, including ceramic glass and induction, or in the oven. Best of all, Chantal colors are guaranteed not to fade.

What's different about Chantal Burner Paste?

Chantal burner Paste is a non-toxic and virtually odor-free solid fuel that burns hotter and longer than standard fuels.

How do I make an oil or broth fondue?

To obtain the high temperature need for oil or broth fondues, it is necessary to pre-heat on a stove. The Chantal fondue pot will then maintain the desired temperature when you use Chantal Burner Paste. If other burner products are used it may be necessary to occasionally reheat liquids on the stove. Note: Always place fondue set on a heat resistant surface before using.

How do I make a chocolate or cheese fondue?

Melt chocolate and cheese fondues before serving. They require very low heat during preparation and a heat diffuser may be needed. To sustain the proper temperature for cheese fondues, place 2 metal-cupped votive candles on glass stand instead of the Chantal burner and burner paste.

Can I use other fuel besides Chantal Burner Paste?

The burner included in your Chantal Fondue Set is designed to accommodate Chantal Burner Paste cartridges. You may use other solid burner fuel, such as Sterno solid canned heat. However, do not use any liquid fuel in the Chantal burner as serious injury could occur!

How To Use Chantal Burner Paste

  1. Remove lid and burner cover by twisting lid in a clockwise direction.

  2. Drop in Chantal Burner Paste cartridge.

  3. Peel back foil cover carefully and replace burner lid. Align and lock into place firmly by twisting lid counter clockwise. Proper alignment and locked closure of the lid are important in controlling the flame and heat.

  4. Place burner securely in the base of the fondue stand. Note: When using Sterno brand canned heat, place base of burner only in fondue stand and then place open fuel can in base. Do not use burner lid with this fuel.

  5. Ignite. CAUTION: The flame will not be visible in bright light. Do not place hand in flame area to check for ignition.

  6. We recommend using a pot holder when handling burner.

  7. Heat may be adjusted during use by partially closing air vents.

  8. To extinguish flame, simply place stainless burner cover over the opening of the burner lid.

  9. After use, remove empty Burner Paste cartridge and clean the base and burner completely with hot, soapy water.
