Local Atlanta chef, Nancy Waldeck, cooks with Copper Fusion !
Copy: In conjunction with the 2010 Atlanta Gift show, Gourmet Catalog sponsored a cocktail party for retailers and vendors within the housewares industry. Chantal teamed up with local Atlanta area chef, Nancy Waldeck, to provide food for the party-goers. Nancy cooked a delicious southern- themed dish, using our Copper Fusion Cookware, in an effort to bring a little local flavor to a very eclectic group of people from all over the US. Her Southern Pepper Jelly Chicken with Warm Black-Eyed Pea Salsa received rave reviews from the crowd and we are happy that she was able to work with Chantal to create a wonderful evening of good fun and exquisite food. How can I make my kitchen more eco?
From The Nest, http://www.thenest.com/
Nest Colleen-Nest Coleen’s Blog
Posted Thursday, April 23, 2009 9:42 AM
At the International Home & Housewares show a few weeks ago, I couldn’t walk three feet without running into a hyped-up product calling itself eco-friendly, sustainable, all-natural or some other tree-huggy phrase dreamed up to make consumers feel smug and righteous when they buy it. I’m all for going green, but there’s a lot of green-washing going on—eco in marketing, but not in substance. Do we really need another chic, reusable water bottle? Or a lotus-shaped garbage can? Wouldn’t it be better if we just used what we have?
It got me thinking about what I’m doing in my own kitchen to reduce, reuse and recycle. And, are there products that can help me lighten my carbon footprint to a tip-toe? ….Excerpt below
When Grandma Rush’s hand-me-down set of Magnalite finally gives out, I’ll invest in more lasts-a-lifetime cookware: Chantal's enamel-on-steel Copper Fusion line. I tried out the skillet—the heft alone gave me goose bumps. It's not nonstick, which is a good thing in my book. Lots of companies are introducing PFOA- and PFOS-free "green" nonstick, but there's not enough reliable information about these new materials yet. They say it's "naturally nonstick", but you still need a smidge of butter or oil to prevent sticking. This pan heats faster than anything I’ve ever cooked in. Best of all, it doesn’t have hot spots like some hard-anodized aluminum or cast iron.
Bonus: CopperFusion works on induction cooktops—which I plan on having when we build my dream kitchen. Induction surfaces heat faster, use less electricity and are more heat-efficient because the pan itself is the element of heat (not the cooking surface).

Sophie Uliano Talks Chantal In Her New Book
On Earth Day, Tuesday 4/22/09, the New York Times bestselling author, Sophie Uliano, of Gorgeously Green launches her new book, the Gorgeously Green Diet, How to Live Lean and Green.
Quote from Page 162-163, Chapter 13, Your Eco-Kitchen:
Pans…..
• COPPER FUSION—This is the crème de la crème of cookware. It is made
primarily of copper, so the heat distribution is unprecedented. It’s the
favorite of many chefs and, because the line contains no aluminum
whatsoever, you don’t’ need to give leaching or flavor interruption in a second
thought. As if this wasn’t enough, these pans are so sexy that you’ll
want them on display. They come in two or three different colors and are
my firm favorite.
Quote from Page 345, Section 9, Resources:
POTS AND PANS
….I recommend all of Chantal’s high-quality cookware, especially the copper fusion line.
...Chantal’s new Pure line of dye-free bakeware is a fantastic eco-friendly line that
is microwave oven and dishwasher safe.
UTENSILS
Chantal carries the most exquisite stainless steel utensils ever. I
haven’t found a better garlic crusher, and I feel it’s worth the investment since I crush
garlic almost every day.
Chef Tre Wilcox Featured In Dallas Fort Worth Star Telegram
Former 'Top Chef’ contestants to hold demonstrations in Dallas on Sunday
Former 'Top Chef’ contestants to hold demonstrations
in Dallas on Sunday
By DARLA ATLAS Posted on Fri, Apr. 17, 2009
Special to the Star-Telegram
Within each season of Top Chef, certain
contestants emerge as necessary ingredients for the show’s success. In Season
3, the Dallas area’s Casey Thompson and Tre Wilcox impressed viewers with both
their culinary skills and — let’s face it — good looks.
On Sunday, Thompson and Wilcox will cook together
again on Top Chef: The Tour 2, which stops for cooking demonstrations at 11
a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. at West Village, between Lemmon and McKinney
avenues in Dallas. The two recently talked about how their lives have changed
since the show.
Tre
Wilcox
I understand you’ve now parlayed your career into
that of a private chef?
The private-chef thing and spokesperson for Chantal
Cookware are my two main things.
Can you give us an idea of what it would cost to have
you come over and work your culinary magic?
My prices definitely fit the times. Sixteen guests is
my maximum for in-home, multi-course tastings. For a
party of 10, I’d say I’d get it done between $1,500 and $2,000.
What made you want to try out for Top Chef?
I’m a thrill-seeker. If you can pack life with as
many experiences as you can, hopefully by the time you reach 80 or 90 you can
get there and say, "I’ve done everything. Just put me in the ground."
[Laughs.]
What are your thoughts about the event on Sunday?
I’m going to be in a very great mood, giving tips
from our demonstrations.

Make & Take™ Is Here!
Make & Take™ is the latest addition to Chantal’s Pure ™ line which was introduced in January 2008. Pure™ is made with the earth’s clay and is fired with a clear natural glaze, free of coloring agents. This process reduces the environmental impact with regard to manufacturing by up to 50%.
The line represents form and function at its best. Featured in four different sizes, Make & Take™ is perfect for brownies, soups, sides, left-overs or casseroles and can also be used for marinating and braising. The silicone seal lid keeps food from spilling while traveling and ensures food keeps fresher much longer. The silicone seal is also removable for easy cleaning and is microwave and oven safe. Make & Take’s beautifully curved handles enable easy transport to parties or to drop off something at the neighbors. In addition, a permanent marker can be used to label name, date or dish. The ink wipes off easily with warm soap and water.

Copper Fusion® Cookware - Innovative, Dynamic, Different
Chantal’s Copper Fusion® cookware embraces dynamic performance and environmental sensitivity with materials that are better for both.
Launching nationally in September 2007, the patented cookware has been tested and acclaimed by foodies and chefs alike.
Copper Fusion, similar to Chantal’s core enamel-on-steel cookware, incorporates non-porous, non-reactive enamel that provides numerous benefits for cooks who demand performance from their cookware, care about the environment or for the increasing number of brides who want healthy and ’green kitchens’.

Tre Wilcox Partners with Chantal to promote Copper Fusion® Cookware
Chantal, the high-end cookware company with products made for healthy and environmentally-friendly cooking and celebrity chef Tre Wilcox, whose culinary flair and fun-loving personality made him a favorite on Bravo’s “Top Chef” competition last summer, joined forces to promote Chantal’s Copper Fusion® line.
An exercise fanatic who believes chefs need to put more focus on their own healthy eating habits, Chef Wilcox uses Chantal’s Copper Fusion line in his home because it combines the performance of copper with the health benefits and convenience of enamel. He also lauds Chantal for its high-style, stick-resistant pans which hold heat well and makes for easy clean up at home.
Tre is currently on tour appearing and conducting cooking classes with Copper Fusion at gourmet shops and cooking schools all around the country. Check with your local retailer or culinary school to see if they have booked one in your area.
